While capitalism is confronted with its worst crisis China is achieving a massive development  – Somawansa Amarasinghe

China has achieved a massive development despite capitalism that was considered as the answer for all victories is confronted with the worst crisis it has come across in history says the Leader of the JVP Somawansa Amarasinghe.

He said this speaking at the celebrations organized by the ‘Sri Lanka – China Friendship Foundation’ to mark the 61^st National Day of People’s Republic of China held at New Town Hall in Colombo on the29^th. The celebration was held with the Ambassadress of People’s Republic of China Ms. Yang Xiuping participating as the chief guest.

Speaking further Mr. Amarasinghe said, “People’s Republic of China was established on 1^st October, 1949. Since then China has moved along the path of development. China has gained all these victories in a short span of 61 years. China has obtained unthinkable massive victories in the economic, political, cultural and social fields.

Chinese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, have worked with unceasing determination. I went to China recently after five years. During this period I saw a colossal change. This victory could be achieved only through the socialist system.

There is no development in the capitalist world today. Capitalism, which boasted that it could achieve all victories, is confronted with the worst crisis in its history. In the midst of this crisis China is achieving a massive development. China is dealing with the rest of the world. Hence, it feels the influence of this crisis. However, China has been strengthened by socialism.  

There is a lie that has been told to us about China. They said China achieved this development due to following the system of free market economy. We had to wait till 2007 – 2008 to realize this was a lie. It has now been established that the free market economy cannot go forward or solve any issue. Hence, the lie told to us about China too has been revealed. China did not follow capitalist policy of free market economy. Then what is the secret here? The secret is China has a massive strength the capitalist world does not have. China has an economic administrative structure that does not allow the economy to drift away from the set course. The economy has been properly administered.

China has helped us whichever political party was in power. It has never interfered in the internal affairs of our country. This is the true friendship. Now the time has come not to accept free market economic policies but to reject them. It is necessary to take examples from China to bring victory to socialism.”
