HC Levy wants Sri Lanka to accommodate Tamil Diaspora

 Dear Bruce Levy:

Having just returned from a short holiday in Cuba, it was with great trepidation that I read your comment of concern that, “HC Levy wants Sri Lanka to accommodate Canadian Tamil Diaspora”.   Accommodate what may I ask?

Surely you are not requesting the Sri Lankan government to give them one-third of the real estate of the north and east of the island bordered by 60 percent of the coast line that 30,000 of the Tamils took to the streets of Ottawa and Toronto carrying head-high a sea of red Tamil Tiger flags on March, April and May of 2009 asking the Canadian government to speak for them and not to let the Sri Lankan armed forces wipe out the Tamil Tigers who were fighting for that very separate Tamil racist state, Eelam. Come on Bruce!  You know that it will never happen, especially when Canada, the country you represent wouldn’t want to hand over the Canadian Province of Quebec to the separatist Quebecois, little alone to the  October 1970’s FLQ.

I believe that you mis-spoke these words because you were wearing the Diplomat’s hat, but I know you are too much of an intelligent public servant to get involved in Sri Lankan affairs supporting the post-1983 Tamil Diaspora knowing why 90% of them are living in Canada.  They all fell on their knees with palms together saying that they were persecuted by the Sri Lankan government and wanting Canada to consider them as Convention Refugees, but only to get on the first flight out of Toronto’s Pearson Airport to Colombo’s International Airport after they were issued a Canadian passport.  They were all economic refugees searching for greener pastures.  Correct?  You are aware of this scam as much as I do.

You mis-spoke because your boss Hon. Lawrence Cannon, the Foreign  Minister for Canada wanted you to toe the line of the Canadian Government  policy on Sri Lanka so that the separatist Tamil Diaspora in Canada, especially those of the Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC), the National Council of Canadian Tamils (NCCT) and the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam, all proxies of the Tamil Tigers could hear you.  This is the Foreign Minister who had difficulty to pat the back of the Sri Lankan government on 19th May 2009, for successfully wiping out the most ruthless scum-of-the-earth, serial killer terrorists in the world, the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (aka Tamil Tigers) militarily, and put out a pathetic Press Release while all the other western countries said, “Hip…hip…hooray Sri Lanka, this is the way to go Sri Lanka.”

You mis-spoke because the Conservative Government that you represent had difficulty to honour the Independence Day celebration of Sri Lanka, her sister Commonwealth nation, by not sending a single parliamentary representative for the biggest day that we Sri Lankan-Canadians celebrate after the Canada Day celebration on July 1st, and I stood there livid as Canada  intimidated my Motherland by slapping her face to appease the Conservative’s new found friends, the proxy Tamil Tigers in search of their votes at the next federal election.  These are the Conservatives who would go in droves to Tamil events in Toronto and at the House of Commons like blue flies wanting to enjoy the newly dropped dollops of horse poop.  These are the Conservatives who would let their Jim Karygiannis, Paul Calandra, the MP for Markham-Oakridge, go and participate in the official ribbon cutting ceremony of the Tamil Tiger proxy NCCT office in Toronto.

But, Mr. High Commissioner, you know that 80 percent of this Diaspora that you are talking for, would not want any reconciliation with the majority Sinhalese, because they know that if they do, they indeed will be the losers in Canada as they wouldn’t be able to bring over their Thelvam (Tom), Devdas (Dick) and Harendran (Harry) to Canada on grounds of family reunification.  They know that they will be the losers as they will not be able to bilk the Canadian system in the thousands of dollars each month.  And they know that they will be the losers as some of them would not be able to become quick millionaires as the businessman Karunathirajah Singarayar who has been charged with fraud and forgery for an alleged multi-million dollar Employment Insurance scheme by the RCMP.

So, if I were you, I would pass on the information in your confidential reports that the Sri Lankans are no fools.  They are aware that Canada is no longer a friend of theirs.  That they know the shenanigans the Canadian parties, the Conservatives, the Liberal and the NDP are up to, licking the sandals of the Tamil Diaspora clawing for their votes.

They also know that the ‘Parliamentary Group of Sri Lanka Friends’ is a group of no good frauds who didn’t see the importance of Sri Lanka’s Independence celebration to show their presence on February 6, as no one from that group had the courtesy to show up to congratulate the official representative of Sri Lanka.  It is an eye-wash and a bunch of schemers.  That was the ultimate litmus test to show  what friends they are of Sri Lanka.  I am sure Sri Lanka can manage without that lot of friends.

You might as well report back that you hear the strains of the song that President Rajapaksa is singing which is adopted from Frank Sinatra’s “I do it my way”… “The record shows I took the blows and did it my way…Yes, it was my way.”

But here is an incident that you and the Conservative Government should be really concerned about as to what is going on at Varadero’s holiday resorts.  At every event of the resort that I stayed at, the MC calls upon the tourists to put up their hands from the countries that they come from and he calls on , Russia, Germany, France, Denmark and also Canada and Quebec.   And scores of hands go up of the French speaking  excited and proud Quebecois.  I made it a point to report my concern to the Head Manager of the resort.  “Sir”, I said. “I want to point out a correction that I would like you to make in the future.  Quebec is not a separate country but is part of Canada.”  “I know Sir”, he said. “But they believe that they are a separate country, and we need their business.” Ce la vie!

My question to you Bruce is, why are you so concerned about Sri Lanka when we are really pretend friends of that little island and not focus on the real problem at hand…Cuba, which already promotes Quebec as a separate country.  I can well imagine the Conservatives going berserk, if only the news papers report, “Raul Castro wants Canada to accommodate the Quebecers’ wish wanting Quebec to be considered as their separate country.”  Just think about it.  Canada has a real problem in their hands, and let’s not worry about Sri Lanka as “they will do it their way and not the Canadian way.”
