The Vanni Crisis:  You can make a difference!

I am one of the fortunate people who was born and grew up in Vanni, and immigrated to Canada. 

Today, the students from Vanni need your help – they are desperate for help - now!

Recently I went to vanni got in touch with a number of people associated with schools.  l I discovered that there are more than 4000 students from Vanni on the verge of financial and emotional calamity as their sources of livelihood and support have, over the past few months, simply disappeared!

While I was there I met the director of education of vanni district and listen to these students’ plights. Most of students are do not have one of their parent or both. There is large number of widows I met and their stories are heart trenching but they still holding their breath for their children. They are asking us to give a hand so they can stand up again and see the light.    

These young people, the last hope that we have, are in limbo.  
 If we don't open our eyes and our hearts, many of these bright youngsters will not only lose the rest of their education but we will be running the risk of losing these precious ones.  They desperately need help, and I have some of their letters and phone numbers if you wish to share the authenticity of their need, the depth of their pain and the terrible experiences they have been undergoing.  

We ask you to act now!
We ask you to be generous and to help save our future generation by pledging a few dollars a month for their live’s.They can finish their education and become self-sufficient.   – Both emotional and financial.

Thus, it is with great hope that we appeal to your best instincts; to urge you to give generously to enable these students to finish their educations.  Perhaps you can be an individual sponsor.  Perhaps you could form a group among your friends, relatives, or at your workplace, any people willing to undertake group donations in order to help provide the financial and emotional support these students so desperately need.

There is no doubt in my mind that when these bright, ambitious, yet so very needy young people state their cases, no human being of conscience could turn a blind eye.   But essential time that will provide impact beyond imagination in the lives of these youngsters!

We are not asking you to give us the money instead if you are willing we can connect you to recipients directly. Then you can maintain the connection with them. We are trying to facilitate between these innocent souls and good people like you.
